"Its time to think about social securities for drivers."
Economy of any country depends on efficient transportation system. Driver community is the propeller of this transport industry. Their dedication requires a healthy body and sound mind. They are the brave soldiers but their sacrifices are yet to be taken care of. The sacrifice of their children, security of their family, working on alien lands etc. are all challenging. It is the time to think about their social securities and welfare of this community.
The drivers are mostly engaged in vehicles operated under private sector. These drivers of heavy motor vehicles and light motor vehicles are the most neglected group of people in our society whether in Bihar or in any other state of the country. They work in an un-organized manner, without having any social security, fixed working hours and wage disparity. Their natureof duty is exposed to extreme health hazards in terms of both physical and mental which many times lead to accidents. Most importantly, till date no regulating agency is available in the state and the country as a whole to monitor the activities and social status of these neglected driver community. Taking advantage of such lapses, the exploitation of poor drivers becoming widespread. Realising the facts, we under the banner of "Bihar Motor Chalak Sangh" have taken some initiatives for the welfare of the driver community on different aspects. We encourage all the drivers of state and country to observe "17th September as THE DRIVER'S DAY".
